Samuel and Carissa have been partners in life and purpose for nearly 15 years, united by a shared passion for justice and reconciliation. As an interracial couple with backgrounds in social work and sociology, they bring both personal insight and academic depth to the conversations around healing, equity, and cross-cultural understanding. Their lived experiences uniquely shape their approach to fostering connection and transformative dialogue.

Dr. Samuel Saforo-Kwapong Founder & Principal Consultant

Dr. Samuel Saforo-Kwapong is a dynamic leader, speaker, and strategist with over two decades of experience in higher education, global engagement, and leadership development. As the founder of SK Consulting, he brings a unique blend of cross-cultural insight, organizational strategy, and a deep passion for helping people and institutions grow with purpose.

Originally from Ghana and having experienced the journey of an international student firsthand, Dr. Saforo-Kwapong has built his career around empowering others—students, leaders, and organizations—to embrace diversity, lead with integrity, and cultivate meaningful impact. His doctoral work focused on intercultural competence and peer mentoring, and he continues to train, consult, and speak on topics such as inclusive leadership, equity in education, and global citizenship.

A gifted communicator and certified Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator, Samuel is known for his ability to connect with people from all walks of life and inspire transformation through storytelling, data-informed practices, and faith-informed values. His leadership has helped institutions strengthen their student success models, grow their global programs, and build cultures of belonging.

Outside of consulting, Samuel is deeply involved in church leadership and community development. He enjoys teaching, mentoring, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Carissa J. Saforo-Kwapong Co-founder

With a degree in Sociology, Carissa has long been fascinated by the dynamics that shape human interaction and social systems. Her deep commitment to justice and equity has fueled a passion for walking alongside young people in need, creating safe spaces for growth, healing, and transformation. Known for her natural ability to draw people in, she fosters honest, meaningful conversations—often rooted in her own lived experiences.

Carissa is a thoughtful and strategic professional with a meticulous, detail-oriented mindset. She currently serves as a Learning & Development Consultant at a leading global workforce solutions company, following a successful tenure in talent acquisition. Her strengths as an ENFJ—including empathy, coaching, and collaborative leadership—shine through in every project she touches.

Whether leading dialogue on racial reconciliation, coaching others in leadership development, or encouraging a growth mindset, Carissa brings a spirit of authenticity and purpose. She is passionate about advancing mental and physical well-being, championing equity, and investing in people through mentorship, facilitation, and training.

In her free time, Carissa enjoys rock climbing, hiking, fitness, and travel. She’s a lover of black coffee, beach days, and meaningful time with loved ones.
